KWVA Memorial Dedication

I am sure most of you know, my dad is a Korean War Vet. Well, the local chapter has been working for about 5 years to raise money for a memorial. It lists the names of those who lost their lives from 3 counties here. They finally got enough money and the dedication was this past Sunday. They even had Gen. James E. Cartwright, the vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, -- the nation's second-highest-ranking military officer there to give a speech. So here are a few pics from the dedication.

BOOOOOO gestational diabetes

Well, I failed. They do four blood draws, a fasting blood draw then you drink a ton of the orange stuff(yum yum). They draw blood after 1 hour, 2 hours and then 3 hours. The only part of the test I passed was the 4th blood draw. So I have gestational diabetes, but hey if that is the worse thing I have to face in this pregnancy, then bring it on.

So now the plan is that I meet with the dietitian so she can tell me about my new diet(woohoo) and to teach me how to use my monitor. Yep, I get to poke my finger daily to check my blood sugar. They are going to monitor it for a bit and then decide if I need medication to help control it. More than likely that will happen, but she did say she is fairly certain I will not end up needing insulin. Which is good... I am sick of needles.

The midwife laughed at me when I told her I was going to get a thin mint girl scout cookie blizzard this weekend as my last sweet before my diet! I only want a small one!!!!

Here it is!

I know some of you have been dying to see the baby's room, so here it is! The pictures do not show the real beauty of the room.

27 weeks +

Well, we hit 27 weeks this week! How exciting it is to still be pregnant. We had our doctor appt today. Baby girl is doing great. She was really active because I did my gestational diabetes test today. First of all, yes she is DEFINATELY a girl, so the pink room stays. They said everything with baby looks great, they say she weighs 2 pounds 7 ounces. The ultrasound tech also said that she definately got some of daddy's genes because her legs are definately not short!

They called with my glucose results and I failed this time.... dang it. I really didn't want to have to take the 3 hour, but oh well. So I am going to go get that done and hopefully that all comes back good.

Baby girl is really active most of the time. I tell Craig that she is going to be a boxer or a soccer player... that gets him going! In 10 more weeks they will be taking my stitch out, so she could make her apperance anytime after that!

We go next week for our 3D ultrasound and I can't wait to see my precious baby!!

Omar

Ok, everyone has heard us talk about Omar, my dad's "pet" squirrel. Today I finally got some pictures of him. They have a new thing where they leave peanut butter out, so he was eating that and decided no peanuts today. But the pictures are cute anyways!!

Happy First Angel Birthday to Hannah

Well, today was a hard day for us. It has been a year since our precious Hannah went to Heaven. We went to the cemetary with my parents and brought her flowers. I also wanted her to have cake, so we brought cupcakes. Craig picked them out, they had pink frosting with princess rings on them. We also let go balloons. Craig and I each had one and then my parents and we also let 2 go from Craig's parents. It was all in all a better day than I thought. We love Hannah and miss her so. But we know she is up there watching out for us.
