Baby Connor and the NICU

We knew ahead of time Connor had some heart issues going on. I took medicine while I was pregnant to keep his heart rate under control. Well when he came out, he decided to make life a lot more interesting. He started having SVT's, basically high heart rate. One episode lasted 30mins so they had to give him extra meds to bring it down. Well then he started having Bradycardia, low heart rate. So now he is only on one medication. The Brady's are less and he can come out of them himself. Last night he decided to start having more SVT's

Connor is definately a little fighter. We just need to get some answers and get him home. Being a NICU parent is VERY hard.... even when you probably have the healthiest baby in there!!

Not much happened in the last week. Sorry, no pics! But we have been getting ready for preschool. Grace starts next Tuesday and is very excited. So there will be pics of that for next week. We all have colds so we have been pretty boring. I am almost 19 weeks along now, next week we should find out what this baby is!!!

Anyways, she made a sausage pizza and we had "pop" to go with it.

Cherry Valley Days

On saturday, Grace and I went to Cherry Valley Days. We had a blast!! She got to ride rides, eat yummy food and play some games! We rode the ferris wheel and got stuck at the top... We were both pretty scared!

August flew by for us. With unpacking and having a new house.. it has been nuts. And unfortunately, Craig's Aunt Laurie lost her fight with cancer. Grandmas birthday party was a gift for all of us, it was the last family function where Laurie would be.

Lots happened in July. We were homeless and staying with Craig's parents during our transition to our new home. Our poor little Gracie had to have her tonsils/adneoids out and a tube put in her left ear. She had so much fluid in that ear she couldn't hear. These are both from before the surgery, but isn't she still pitiful?

We went to the brookfield zoo a few days before her surgery. She LOVES the zoo!!

July was nuts in my book. Between packing, moving, being homeless, Grace's surgery... Oh and the most important news.... We are pregnant!! It was a complete surprise and we didn't find out until I was almost 7 weeks. Baby Ecker will be here the end of January!

I always colored Easter eggs with my dad so I wanted Grace to do the same. It is something easy for him to do since it is so hard for him to breathe these days. She loved coloring eggs with Tata.

We were sick of being in the house. It has been kinda yucky lately. So we ran to walmart and grabbed some stuff to make french bread pizzas. Grace LOVED them and ate like she hadn't been fed in years!! We also made Groovy Smoothies like from Fresh Beat Band. Daddy was jealous that day, Grace had to call him and rub it in!!

Grace keeps me busy... very busy! Our laptop was nuts and finally died. So I will update with some pictures I have on the new computer.

This is Grace a couple of weeks ago at Nana and Papa's house before her Great Great Aunt's funeral. She looked so cute, I loved that Christmas dress. (Craig put it in the dryer and now it is no longer around)

Grace loves her cows. So when we went to Colonial Cafe for some ice cream and found her a cow... she was really excited. Moo Moo!!!

And yes, she only has one shoe on. That is the story of my life. It take her all of 2 minutes to take that stupid thing off once I put it on, so half the time I just don't put it back on till I have to!

Overdue update!

It has been nuts in this house! Grace is growing like crazy. She has been sick too, first of all with RSV then a double ear infection and now just one ear is infected.

She is a stitch though. I love her so much, she keeps me laughing all the time. She just got 2 goldfish....ishy and ishy. Hey if Elmo has a goldfish, why can't Grace have one, right? And she loves Elmo, still calls him Lala. She talks and says new words all the time.

She is doing great at tumbling. She has her front rolls down and finally did the balance beam. She loves the trampoline, but doesn't get jumping yet. Sorry but the pics from there turn out horrible.

Here is Grace and daddy at Grace's first hockey game. Craig asked her one night if she wanted to go to a hockey game and she yelled HOCKEY! So from then on hockey was her word and we took her to a game. Tata brought grace a monkey balloon for valentines day. She loved it! She named it Mo.

Grace has a new favorite toy, it is one of my bowls. I gave her a wisk too, but hey the bowl is more fun....

Tumbling Fun

Grace started her tumbling class last night. She had a great time!! She is the youngest in the class, but did a wonderful job. She had no use for the balance beams or the rings. But she loved doing summersaults once she figured out what she was doing. Craig had the camara, and he is not use to changing the settings, so the pics aren't all that great. I need to teach him how to use it!

Here is Grace playing in the snow... Yeah I know it is in the house. She had a cold so we brought the snow in to her. We got 12 inches, so there was plenty to bring in. She LOVED it!!!

Well, it has happened; our big girl has started to take some steps. She thinks it is the best thing ever and so does daddy. Mommy is not convinced yet, but hey I knew it would happen sooner or later! She is starting to stand really really well. When she starts to take off walking she gets excited and tries to run and falls over.

I tired to get some video, this one is ok... it is not going the right way, but oh well you get the point! I got the best video on the video camara, which I don't know how to put on here, sorry.

We took Grace to see Sesame Street Live today. She LOVED it!!! She kept singing "lalala" for Elmo. Mommy and Daddy had fun too. Some of the pics are good, a few are a little dark. It was hard to get pics because of the light.

Ok, so in the past few weeks Grace has started crawling! GO GRACIE!!!! It has provided lots of excercise for us.... especially Craig since I can't do much since surgery. She is working on pulling up and likes to stand. Our little girl is growing up!!!

My uncle Jack and uncle Freddie came to visit for a few days. They stayed with my mom and dad. I can't even remember the last time the were up here. They are from Tennesse and Virginia. So Grace got to meet 2 of her Great Uncles. We had a great time, considering they are from the crazy side of the family!!!

Sorry everyone, it has been so crazy. With the surgery and everything, I have had no time and haven't felt well enough to be on the computer much. I am finally feeling better and back into "computer land!"

So much has happened in the last few weeks. I will see if I can remember everything, it probably won't be in order and I will try to provide pictures for most of it!

Vacation

For our mini vacation we went to see my college roomie, Beth in Fort Wayne, IN. We had a great time, Gracie especially loved having a dog to play with. She wanted to bring Nina home with us. We told her if she said dog we would get one, but she never did say it!!

We went to a baseball game while we were there as well.

At the beginning of our vacation we stopped by to visit Craig's family. Gracie always has fun playing with Dylan, Ethan and Ryan. Mia isn't big enough to play with yet!!! Even though Ryan is 7 months older, him and Grace are pretty much the same size since he was a premie... they have a ton of fun together!!!

July 4th made 2 years since Hannah left us. We went to the cemetary with balloons, a special toy, flowers and a little cake. Gracie let a balloon go for her big sister and Mommy and daddy let go balloons too. We still miss Hannah and wonder why she had to become an Angel. But we thank God daily for Gracie and are so glad Hannah picked her special to be her little sister!!

Gracie is becoming such a big girl! She had her 9 month appointment and is doing great. She is in the 90th percentile for everything. She is almost 22 lbs and almost 29 inches long. No shots this time so she had a great time. Dr G said to start giving her more table food and to start 2% milk. I just can't believe she is 9 months old already. Where has the time gone??

For a while now we have been looking at garage sales for a walker for Gracie. We finally found a 2 in 1 today... well Craig found it. It is so cool and Gracie loves it!!! Hopefully she learns how to make it go forward, everything is still in reverse, including this walker!

So tonight for dinner Craig wanted pizza. So I decided to let Gracie try my crust, needless to say she loved it!! Here she is trying it. Notice I have to hold the crust because she has mum mum in both of her hands!

But the best part is she seemed to think eating pizza was funny, enjoy the video it is GREAT. I did end up giving her more of the pizza, and she really enjoyed it. Our little baby is growing up!

Grace is getting to be such a big girl. She is almost 9 months old. She gets in the crawl position, but her transmission is stuck in reverse! She is starting to eat some table foods... she likes french fries, mashed potatoes, jello, green beans...oh and ice cream!! She loves to play and scream. And everything is da da.

I got my mothers day present a little early this year. Craig and Gracie decided we were going to go get pictures done. We went to Ross, the guy that did our wedding pictures. It was originally going to just be Grace, but it was the same cost to do pics of her and family pictures. So we got all the pictures on cd and we have the rights to them. So here are some of them.
